Police in Virginia are searching for a 50-year-old endangered man who disappeared while walking to a convenience store.
James Mack Orange, who police say has epilepsy and suffers from early onset dementia, was last seen leaving his Alexandria home, in the 300 block of South Reynolds Street, at about 7 a.m. Thursday.
According to the Alexandria Police Department, Orange had told someone he was walking to a nearby 7-11 store to buy coffee. It remains unclear if Orange made it to the store, but it is known that he never returned home afterward.
Police say Orange often frequents bus stops and fast food restaurants near the west end of Alexandria, which is where search teams are coordinating efforts Friday.
Authorities are concerned for the missing man's welfare not only because he suffers from dementia, but because he also does not have his epilepsy medication with him, police said.
James Orange is African-American, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, 140 lbs., with black thinning hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored winter coat, brown or tan pants, grey Adidas basketball shoes and a dark-colored baseball cap.
