Wilderness/Ground Search and Rescue...
Hey all,
I work for the City of Southfield Department of Public Works and we have recently formed a Community Emergency Response Team to back up our first responders here in the city. Our DPW-CERT has 26 employees trained and all are ready for more. So I am looking for classes like Intro to Search & Rescue(ISAR), Fundmentals of Search & Rescue(FUNSAR) ETC. ETC. located in or close to Michigan for our Team.
Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Justin

Justin,
There are no NASAR instructors in Michigan. If it is your wish to get training, I believe you would have to get someone to come from Ohio or Indiana to conduct a class. We conduct or our basic training on the west side of the state. Our classes are geared specifically for Michigan and followed up by months of re-enforcement training.
NASAR has a book titled Fundamentals of Search and Rescue and an internet test you can get SARTech III certified.
